Picnic/Pentecost Celebration

Pentecost Sunday is celebrated as the birthday of the Church. On the first Pentecost the Church came to life when God’s Spirit, in rather extraordinary fashion, entered the minds and hearts of the disciples of Jesus. Without God’s Spirit, they were afraid and fearful. With it, they unlocked the door and embraced everyone.

Since our parish is named Holy Spirit Catholic Church we hold a picnic and celebration. The festivities began at 10:15 a.m. under the big tent with beautiful music selections from our Handbell Choir and Brass Instrumentalists, laced with special readings from the Word of God. The outdoor liturgy begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by a picnic lunch provided by the parish.

There was music, dancing, fun rides, games and wonderful visiting. Below are some random photos of the day. Feel free to print them for your albums.
