The Office for Worship and Music Ministry always
welcomes new members to our programs and extends a personal invitation for you
to also come and do something new and different! As a member you will find
diversity in music and style and a wonderful group of people working with our
Music Director, John Duplaga and our Youth Choir/Hand Bell Director, Kim Bourk to further this journey of prayer through worship at
Holy Spirit Parish.
Please take time to look through the different types of music that you can be
involved in here at Holy Spirit Church. Each section below gives a thorough
description of each department. Give us a call at the Church. We're happy to
assist you!

special need within the parish. The Holy Spirit Parish Adult Choir consists of
individuals from any age group starting with grade 9 and they do not have to be
members of Holy Spirit Parish.

Cantors |
| |
Cantors are the leaders of song. Their primary
role is to help encourage full and active participation from the assembly, while
proclaiming scripture through music. The cantor program is for individuals who
are comfortable being in front of the congregation leading everybody in song. A
volunteer position group cantor rehearsals are held the last Tuesday of every
month from 6 pm-7:30 pm in the church choir loft. One on one cantor rehearsals
are scheduled as needed with the music director.

planned in advance allowing plenty of time to practice.
All types of musicians are welcome and include those who play flutes, clarinets,
oboes, bassoons, piccolos, French horns, trumpets, trombones, tubas, violins,
violas, cellos, double bass, guitars, percussion, timpani, piano, organ,
keyboard and harps. Professional or not musicians are asked to participate with
whatever time they can freely give.

Resurrection Choir |
| |
The Resurrection Choir sings for all Church
funerals. It consists of parishioners who have free time on weekdays and / or
Saturday mornings. The purpose of such a choir is to represent the parish
community on the passing of a loved one, to pray for them and their families
through song and scripture. Many of our parishioners have never sung in any type
of choir program before and really love this one!

 |
Youth Choir |
| |
Holy Spirit Parish Youth Choir consists of
individuals ranging from grades 6-8. Youth choir participants do not have to go
to Holy Spirit School or belong to the parish. The youth choir sings on both
Christmas Eve and Pentecost Vigil for the 5 pm Mass. They also sing for the 11
am Mass during Catholic School Week, and will perform during the Winter Concert
scheduled later this year. Youth choir rehearsals are held every Thursday night
from 5 pm-6:30 pm in the church choir loft starting August 31, 2006.

Bell Choir |
| |
The Adult Handbell Choir rehearses weekly and
plays for Mass at least once a month. Other performances include playing for
nursing homes, hospitals, weddings, funerals and special events. The choir
performs on three octaves of Schulmerich handbells and three octaves of Malmark
handchimes.
Our wonderful Youth Bell Choir is under the direction of
Mrs. Kim Bourk. This is a great opportunity for those who do not sing to get
involved in something different.
